Long Vowels in Level 1

We promote decoding sounds from the start. We train the ear to hear and the tongue to say long vowel sounds. We may or may not choose to teach to read long vowel sounds.

Long A

Long O

• nose – touch your nose
• home – It is home time.
• vote – This game or this game. Let’s vote.
• more – One more time? More finger space. Here is 2 more card.
• move – Move over.
• phone – May I use your phone.
• go – Let’s go outside.
• goat – A ram is a dad goat.
• so – A hen has wings, so it can fly.
• no – No thank you.
• low – Is it too low? Higher?

Long U

• mute – press mute. Mute the music.
