- Skill 0 – Tell the story. Focus on animals and numbers. Use TPR to make the language visible.
- Skill 1 – Read the story to the story. Have the students repeat some of your language. Ask some questions.
- Skill 2 – Get them to read what they can. Ask more questions.
- Skill 3 – Challenge them to think deeper about the text and images.
